Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon may be going through a divorce at the moment but it isn't stopping their former nanny from suing the both them. According to the New York Daily News Simonette Da Costa filed the lawsuit after allegedly being forced to work 100 hour weeks without being paid overtime.
In the court documents filed in Manhattan Federal Court, Da Costa described being on duty all day, every day with the children, sometimes without sleeping, eating or a break.
Da Costa worked for the singer and comedian from October 2013 to January 2014 before being fired by Mariah for showing a little too much affection to her twins Moroccan and Monroe, 3.
The court documents go into more details about Mariah calling the nanny in the middle of the night, requiring her to attend to every need and want.
Just a month after allegedly firing Da Costa, Mariah Carey stopped by the The Breakfast Club and admitted she fired (previous/future) nannies if they try to make themselves more important than her.
"Unfortunately I have to have nannies but I'm very hands-on. I fire nannies like this," [snapped her finger].
"And I hate doing it, but I have to if they try to make themselves more important in the baby's mind than me."
The nanny is seeking an unspecified amount of back pay and damages.
Mariah and Nick Cannon have been separated since August of last year. Cannon filed for divorce on Decembrr 12.
